Job Description:
This position acts as a professional resource and provides expert knowledge for library services and manages the directing of standardization and access to professional library services. Also provides professional leadership in the coordination of literature search, interlibrary loan, document delivery and reference services for affiliated organizations and teaching programs. Oversees the library vendor and license management, content management, and compliance management in issues related to the library business. Participates on the Essentia Institute of Rural Health Leadership Team, and the Essentia CME and Essentia Med Teaching Committees. This position manages and coordinates the resources, staff and services of the Health Sciences Library in meeting the informational needs of the physicians and practitioners, employees, students, and other library users across Essentia. Responsibilities reflect library administration and biomedical subject knowledge; a thorough understanding of library services in the health care environment provided on site and to distant users; and a demonstrated ability to supervise staff and manage short-term and long-range projects. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, overall management of library service operations; development and provision of traditional and electronic information resources and services; and planning and implementation of library initiatives. Work Experience: Minimum 3 years library experience, including technology-based library services, with evidence of increasing areas of responsibility. Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred.

Education Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science or equivalent.

Licensure/Certification Qualifications:

No certification/licensure required.
