Nurse Residency

Essentia Health is proud to offer the Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program™ to empower newly licensed nurses to successfully transition into clinical practice.

The Nurse Residency Program supports new nurse graduates as they transition into their professional role as caregivers. The program focuses on three critical areas: quality outcomes, leadership, and the professional role. This one-year program features a series of learning and hands-on work experience that develops clinical leadership skills necessary to become a successful member of the health care team.

 What is it?

• The cohort attends seminars together for four hours monthly for 12 months
• Smaller groups meet with facilitators during seminar breakouts for clinical reflection time
• Content is presented by subject matter experts
• Nurse residents create a professional development plan and work together to implement an evidence- based practice project
