Job Summary:Provides quality care to patients of all ages as defined in the ambulatory care nursing philosophy of Essentia Health. Performs specialized tests and procedures and assists ophthalmologists in providing quality eye care for patients.We use a team-based approach to patient care, working closely with providers. Our department specializes in General Ophthalmology, Cornea, Retina, Pediatrics, Glaucoma, and Optometry, offering a broad range of learning opportunities, diagnostic testing, and treatment options. We continuously explore new procedures and innovative methods to enhance patient care. Our COAs and COTs collaborate and train together to support one another and strengthen our team.

Licensure/Certification Qualifications:

Certification/Licensure:

  • Current JCAHPO certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (C.O.A.).
  • BCLS within 3 months of hire
