Job Description:
Assists the physician with the full range of therapeutic and diagnostic endoscopic procedures, including specialized procedures. Participates in the on-call rotation, and in the provision of endoscopic services to outreach locations.Responsible for the reprocessing of reusable surgical instruments and patient care equipment for use in surgery and throughout various nursing units. Plays a vital role in ensuring clean, safe, sterile instruments and equipment are available to hospital staff for use in patient care.Education Qualifications:
Educational Requirements:
- Completion of healthcare program (such as LPN, CA, NA, EMT, etc.) or equivalent technical healthcare training, education or experience
Required Qualifications:
- 8-12 months of related experience in healthcare or patient care experience
- Medical terminology
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrating proficiency assisting with routine diagnostic and therapeutic Endoscopic procedures including, screening flexible sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy and EGD, and experience assisting in specialized procedures
- Experience using electronic medical record
