Provides health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. They may care for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly as noted in age-related category and area of expertise.Education Qualifications:

Join a collaborative, high-functioning team in a busy ER setting that includes 12 Physicians and 3 Advanced Practice Clinicians. This department based at our 32nd Avenue campus offers an efficient and effective practice for a team-oriented candidate desiring to provide high-quality care in a fast-paced environment. Experienced candidates with backgrounds in Emergency Medicine preferred.
- 0.9 FTE
- Ability to provide care to all ages
- Twelve (12-hour) shifts per month, rotating days/evenings and weekends.
- Complex patient case mix averaging 90-100 ED patients per 24-hour period
- Qualifies for excess shifts pay, if working beyond 80 hrs per pay period
- Essentia does not sponsor visa candidates for this position.
- Must be able to see patients of all ages.
The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision making skills, while working both independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. The NP/PA will provide health care to individuals emphasizing health promotion, disease prevention and disease management. The NP/PA may care for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly as noted in age-related category and area of expertise. Position requires high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others.
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program from an accredited program/institution.
- Preference for Emergency Medicine background.
- Must be able to see patients of all ages.
Licensure/Certifications required:
- Current licensure as a registered nurse in appropriate state (if NP).
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in appropriate state.
- Current certification in CPR and additional training required (may include BLS, ACLS, CALS, PALS, ATLS)
- National certification, in applicable area.
- Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice.
Hired candidates may be eligible to receive additional compensation in the form of bonuses, quality incentives or production-based compensation
