Pediatric Walk-In Clinic - 0.6 Flex FTE
Fargo, ND (52nd Avenue)
Join our pediatric Walk-In Care team committed to customer service and patient-centered care at our 52nd Avenue Campus. The APP will care for newborns through age 18 in the outpatient walk-in setting. Current team consists of 3 Primary Care providers and one pediatric nurse practitioner; this care model offers collegial, high-producing colleagues that work as a team and are highly committed to the care of our patients. This position will focus on our Walk-in Care, acute services. Come and provide care in an enjoyable and fulfilling work environment (ND & MN licensure and DEA required).
- Must be able to care for pediatric patients. Experience in family medicine, walk-in care, emergency medicine or urgent care setting is preferred! PNP certification is preferred!
- 0.6 Flex FTE, Part-time status
- Flex above or below a 0.6 FTE depending on the needs of the clinic while obtaining benefits
- Schedule during the week may vary
- Covering every 4th weekend
- Walk-in care patient hours are Monday- Friday from 8:00am to 7:30pm, Saturdays from 9am-4:30pm and Sundays from 12pm-4:30pm.
- Patient volume from 25-35 per 12-hr shift

The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision making skills, the NP/PA works independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. NP/PAs provide health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. They may care for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly as noted in age-related category and area of expertise. Position requires high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others.
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nurse Practitioner or Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Physician Assistant program from an accredited program/institution.
- Ability to care for all pediatric patients in the walk-in-care setting. Experience in Family Medicine, Walk-in, Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine is preferred! Pediatric trained and certified through PNCB or ANCC (PPCNP-BC) is preferred!
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Current licensure as a registered nurse in appropriate state.
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant in appropriate state.
- Current certification in CPR
- National certification, in applicable area.
- Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice.
- Pediatric trained and certified through PNCB or ANCC (PPCNP-BC) is preferred
