Responsible for providing leadership, program development and coordination between providers, staff and patients for a defined population. Acts as a primary liaison between the operations team, internal stakeholders and key community partners. In conjunction with internal departments and disciplines, coordinates community outreach programs, including screening and health promotion activities, and education. The position may include direct patient care in the role of care coordination for a defined population. Ongoing collaboration with providers, staff, quality, regulatory and reimbursing agencies are required for optimal care coordination across the continuum. Position requires knowledge and ability to research evidence-based practices analyze and interpret data to make program recommendations and improve population outcomes.Education Qualifications:
Key Responsibilities
- The Trauma Program Manager is a registered nurse with expertise in trauma nursing practice who is responsible for the development, implementation, operation and evaluation of the Pediatric Trauma Program
- The Trauma Program Manager is responsible for the organization of services and systems necessary for a multidisciplinary approach to providing care to injured patients and works both independently and in collaboration with multidisciplinary health care teams and management staff
- This position assumes day-to-day responsibility for process and performance improvement activities as they relate to nursing, registry, and injury prevention staff
- The Trauma Program Manager is considered a technical expert in the trauma field and is responsible for oversight of a highly complex patient population and program
- Activities associated with this role have organizational, local, regional, state, and national impact
- The Trauma Program Manager is responsible for directing, evaluating, and providing feedback to professional level employees who participate in the operations of the trauma program and works closely with others to promote education and research
- This position is responsible for communication of resource needs across multiple departments
- Provides coordination and facilitation of performance improvement activities, including data collection, analysis, trending, and benchmarking of data outcomes
Licensure/Certification Qualifications:
Education Requirements
- ADN or BSN degree from an accredited school of Nursing
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in the acute care setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BSN or CNS Preferred
Cetification/Licensure Requirements:
- Current Nursing License with the appropriate board of Nursing
