*This position will serve all Essentia Markets*Responsible for overseeing the RIS/PACS system team and ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and optimization of the Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS). This role will also focus on developing and refining hanging protocols to enhance radiologist workflow, improve efficiency, and ensure optimal image presentation. The Supervisor will serve as the primary liaison between radiologists, IT teams, and imaging departments to ensure seamless system performance and continuous process improvement.Education Qualifications:
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and provide guidance to the RIS/PACS system team, ensuring high availability and optimal performance of imaging systems
Manage daily RIS/PACS operations, troubleshooting system issues, and coordinating resolution efforts with IT and vendor support
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, system documentation, and best practices for RIS/PACS administration
Train and mentor team members, ensuring they stay current with system updates, industry trends, and best practices
Work closely with radiologists, technologists, and administrative staff to identify workflow inefficiencies and implement improvements
Conduct regular assessments of hanging protocols to align with radiologists’ preferences and clinical requirements
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to incorrect image presentation, sequencing, or layout
Stay updated on new imaging technologies and software enhancements that may impact image display and interpretation workflows
Ensure RIS/PACS systems are properly configured to meet clinical and operational needs
Act as a liaison between radiology, IT, hospital administration, and vendors to support RIS/PACS enhancements and troubleshooting
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Healthcare Informatics, Radiologic Technology, or a related field OR equivalent experience
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience managing RIS/PACS systems and vendors in a healthcare setting
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in PACS Administration (CPAS, PARCA) or related credentials
Experience with enterprise imaging solutions, VNA, or cloud-based imaging storage
Previous supervisory or leadership experience in healthcare IT or radiology informatics
