Responsible for organizing and providing nursing care to patients through the process of assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Delegates aspects of care to other nursing personnel based upon their licensure, preparation and job descriptions. Contributes to the meeting of the mission and goals of the facility and Essentia, and meets the requirements of the Joint Commission if applicable and/or other federal, state, and local regulatory or accrediting agencies. Responsible for the coordination of lactation education and support within the nursing division. NICU RN's in Fargo, ND are required to perform transport via helicopter and Ambulance.Licensure/Certification Qualifications:
- BSN or ADN degree from an accredited school or college of nursing
- Current nursing licensure in state(s) of employment
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within one month
- Current Certification as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within one year
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required when moving to level 3 NICU RN. (After 2 years of employment, or longer as approved by the manager)
Must meet the following qualifications:
- Preferred experience as an IBCLC in an inpatient setting that serves Post-partum and high-risk inpatient patients supporting their lactation needs.
- Experience with outpatient lactation and extensive hand on support and education.
- Experience in lactation education triage needs
- Comfortable with other Nursing Assessments as needed based on the patient including but not limited to Bilirubin lab draws on newborns and Blood pressure monitoring and education.
