We are now recruiting for Student Nurse Apprentices for our Essentia facilities in Moose Lake and Sandstone! Applications close July 21st. Compensation $20/hour The Student Nurse Apprentice, under the guidance of a Registered Nurse preceptor, will perform identified procedures individually once competencies have been demonstrated. The Student Nurse Apprentice provides activities of daily living and supports the nursing staff in various duties and also performs nursing tasks aligned within their current scope of practice (e.g., nursing assistant or practical nursing) during educational breaks and upon completion prior to passing NCLEX exam. Student Nurse Apprentices must be enrolled in a nursing program or pending RN licensure and work at an entry-level, assisting RN, Physician and other providers with direct patient care, offering hands-on experience.Education Qualifications:
Key Responsibilities:
Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, eating, and mobility
Measure and record patients' vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration)
Help with patient positioning, transferring, and ambulation.
Monitor and report changes in patients' condition to the supervising nurse
Perform basic clinical procedures as directed by the nursing staff, such as dressing changes, catheter care, and specimen collection
Assist in preparing patients for medical examinations and procedures
Set up and clean medical equipment and patient rooms.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities
Ensure patient records are updated and comply with healthcare regulations and standards
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
Provide compassionate and respectful care, addressing patients' concerns and questions
Apply theoretical knowledge from nursing education to practical situations
Required Qualifications:
Must be a current Minnesota resident
Educational Requirements:
Must be a second year ADN nursing student enrolled in Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College's accredited registered nursing program (or completed and pending RN licensure)
Must achieve learning objectives as designated by their academic nursing education program outlined in course syllabus
Preferred Qualifications:
Basic knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and techniques
Ability to follow instructions and work under the supervision of licensed nurses
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, moving patients, and standing for extended periods
