UPDATE FROM ESSENTIA HEALTH ON CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)

Safety and Protocols

The health and safety of our patients, team members and candidates are very important to us. We continue to provide care for our patients and families, as well as one another, and are therefore still taking applications for essential roles. Due to the current situation related to the most recent coronavirus (COVID-19), we're leveraging our digital capabilities to ensure we can continue to recruit top talent at Essentia.

As your application progresses, you may be asked to conduct more interviews over the phone or to use one of our digital tools to help you through your recruitment journey. If so, one of our Talent Acquisition team members will explain the process and be available to answer any questions you might have.

For on-site visitors and interviews, we're committed to keeping you safe through:

  • Rigorous hand hygiene
  • Redesigned common areas to ensure social distancing
  • Cleaning/disinfecting common waiting areas and following social distancing guidelines
  • Following meticulous room disinfection guidelines against COVID-19 and other infectious diseases
  • Cleaning each exam room after each visit with our standard disinfection products that are active against COVID-19 and other infectious diseases
  • Expanded COVID-19 testing for patients scheduled for a treatment or procedure to ensure it's safe to continue with their appointment
  • Restricted designated floors/units specifically to care for patients with COVID-19
  • Converted COVID-19 hospital rooms to create negative air pressure with special filters and increased the number of air exchanges per hour to limit exposure to the virus in the air

Vaccinations as a condition of employment

The Essentia Health Leadership Team has made the decision to require all colleagues to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, as well as influenza, as a condition of employment. Both the COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations will also be required as a condition of entering our facilities to perform services for Essentia Health.

Many patients we are privileged to serve come to us with compromised immune systems and live with chronic diseases. We are obligated to protect these vulnerable patient populations from infections that can be devastating and deadly. Patients want to know they will be safe seeking care in our facilities. We believe in being as transparent as possible as to the vaccination status of those working in our facilities and conveying the message that vaccines have proven to be the safest and most effective way out of this pandemic.

As of February 28, 2022, all new employees must have their influenza vaccination and be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (both doses of Moderna/Pfizer or 1 dose of Johnson & Johnson - boosters not needed at this time) or have an approved medical or religious exemption prior to starting. (Download exemption forms here: Medical Exemption or Religious Exemption)

By requiring the COVID-19 vaccine and influenza vaccine for our colleagues, we find yet another opportunity to demonstrate our Mission and make a healthy difference in people’s lives.

Please note that the images of staff on our career website are either pre-pandemic or taken in a controlled environment away from actual patients.
